Fathers and work-family balance

For many fathers, being a dad is an incredibly important part of their life. According to Pew Research Center data, around 57 percent of fathers point to parenting as being an extremely important aspect of their life.

Now, there are certain things that can raise concerns for fathers about to their ability to be the type of parent they want to be. This includes their job. For example, one thing a father may be concerned about in relation to their job is what kind of work-family balance can be rreealistically achieved.

Data indicates that such concerns are pretty common among dads. Pew Research Center numbers point to over half of working fathers (52 percent) reporting finding maintaining work-family balance somewhat or very difficult.

Some circumstances can raise special concerns for dads related to work-family balance, such as getting divorced. A divorce can greatly change a dad's schedule regarding when they get to spend time with their kids.

When a dad is getting divorced, one thing that could impact how solid of a work-family balance they are able to maintain is how well any unique scheduling concerns related to their job are taken into account in the child custody arrangement that is reached in the divorce. An experienced Board-Certified Expert family law attorney can help fathers to customize provisions for protecting their parental rights in child custody negotiations, including the unique scheduling concerns raised by their specific work schedule.
